Since the Bolivian Embassy is so strict regarding the regulations for a Bolivian passport photo and visa photo, you need to be certain that your pictures meet all of the requirements. Photo booths won’t be able to meet the high standards – it’s easy to make a mistake with the picture and, therefore, have the picture and your application rejected. Bolivian Passport Photo specifications:
- Your application must include two colour photos, each measuring 50mm x 50mm or 2 inches by 2 Inches.
- Photos have to be recent to reflect your current appearance – they need to have been taken within the last 6 months
- Any photos which you have attempted to take yourself or which you have taken in a photo booth will be rejected by the Bolivian Embassy
- Photos must be taken against a white background, and there must not be any shadows visible anywhere in the picture (No shadows on the applicant’s face nor the backdrop of the photograph)
- 50 – 70% of the photograph should be taken up by your face. When printed out, it will be 25mm – 35mm from chin to forehead.
- When the photo is taken, you must assume a neutral expression, keeping your mouth shut and your eyes open. You must look straight into the camera and keep your head and eye line level with the lens.
- You may wear headwear in your photo for religious or medical purposes, however it must not obscure any part of your face.
- If you wear glasses, we recommend removing them; it is common for passport and visa photographs to fail due to reflections from the lenses, glasses frames covering the applicant’s eyes, etc.
- All photos must be of a suitable brightness and contrast and not be digitally altered in any way. If photos are found to have been digitally altered, they will be rejected outright
